The reigning Miss Texas Pole Star champion, Brynn Route of Brass Ovaries submitted her award winning choreographed pole video, which was chosen from a pool of elite talented pole athletes to become one of the final contestants to compete in The National Aerial Pole Art Championship.
Aerial Pole Art is a unique form of theater. It combines the physical strength, flexibility, agility, and balance of gymnastics with the grace, coordination, rhythm and choreography of modern dance. The outcome is an exciting, beautiful, cirque-type show of artistic expression.
Brynn will go to compete for the prestigious title of National Aerial Pole Art Female Champion. At the competition, Brynn will represent herself along with Brass Ovaries, Miss Texas Pole Star and Austin, TX.Her goal is to develop her pole piece and travel to Las Vegas to present her talents in front of a global dance audience. This will be a tremendous opportunity for her to connect with other dance artists from around the world and enhance her ability to create interesting and provocative work.
This experience is important to her for many reasons. It is imperative to experience dance in other parts of the United States in order to make her art more relative in a national sense. By presenting her work in Las Vegas she will be able to get a glimpse of how people from different parts of the nation and the world view her work, and be able to hear their thoughts on how to further develop her artistry.
The connections that Brynn will be able to make may also lead to future global collaborations, giving audiences in The United States and abroad the opportunity to experience live performance built from varying global perspectives. She is thrilled to be afforded such an opportunity to begin breaking out into the national dance scene and develop herself as an artist.
