Rules

General Rules are outlined here. Please click on the sections below for more specific info.

  1. Miss Texas Pole Star organization reserves the right to expel a competitor from the competition, both before and during the competition.
  2. Each contestant may only compete in “one” division, Amateur, Fitness, Masters or Ultimate Pole Star.
  3. The competitors must be available for a photo shoot and/or interviews before the competition if requested.
  4. The prize winner must cooperate with the promotion of Miss Texas Pole Star pre, during and after for photos and media interviews.  Performances for Miss Texas Pole Star promotions could also be required thought out the year of MTPS’s reign.
  5. Dressing rooms are for competitors and staff only. They are off limits to family or friends.
  6. “Miss Texas Pole Star” title is the official title and valid for one year.
  7. During their reigning year, the winner and the four runners-up may not participate in or judge other competitions using their titles containing Miss Texas Pole Star without the permission from The Miss Texas Pole Star organization.
  8. Miss Texas Pole Star reserves the right to retract the title if the title holder causes any damages or harm to the competition or it’s reputation or to pole fitness as a community.
  9. In the case of retraction, the runner up becomes the new Miss Texas Pole Star.
  10. Miss Texas Pole Star is not liable for injury or damage resulting from participation in the competition.
  11. Miss Texas Pole Star reserves the right to change the rules of the competition when it best serves the competition.
  12. All decisions not addressed in the document will be made by the Miss Texas Pole Star Organization.
  13. A decision by the Miss Texas Pole Star organization is binding.
  14. All grip aids must be approved prior to competition. Acceptable aids include Mighty Grip, Tite Grip, ITac, Dry Hands, Firm Grip. There will be a 2 point deduction for gloves

Qualifications

To be eligible to compete in the Miss Texas Pole Star Competition we require:

  • 18 years of age or older and currently a Texas resident for the past 6 months.
  • Female
  • Submit a complete application form along with waiver and photo no later than August 1, 2011 to Miss Texas Pole Star, 3100 Regency, Carrollton, TX 75007 or to entries@misstexaspolestar.com
  • Pay your application fee online at Verticalfitnessdallas.com with credit or debit card, no cash or checks
  • All applications, photos, and fees must be submitted no later than August 1, 2011
  • All contestants are required to carry their own liability insurance and sign a waiver assuming all risks inherent with and incident to the type of activity from the contest

Wardrobe Requirements

  • Absolutely no nudity!
  • No props
  • Acceptable costumes
    • Boy shorts, hot shorts, or swimsuit type bottoms with complete coverage.
    • Sports bra, swim suit type tops that provide complete coverage.
    • ALL intimate body parts must be concealed.
    • All grip aids must be approved prior to competition. Acceptable aids include Mighty Grip, Tite Grip, ITac, Dry Hands, Firm Grip.
    • There will be a 2 point deduction for gloves
  • Unacceptable costumes
    • No G-Strings, thongs, pasties or tassels.
    • No Boots.
    • Wardrobe malfunction will lead to immediate disqualification.
  • Ultimate Division includes a 5″ minimum heel requirement

Disqualification

  • wardrobe malfunctions
  • use of vulgar language or talking to the crowd or judges
  • behavior or conduct that might damage the image of Miss Texas Pole Star or the reputation of the pole community

Music

All music must be submitted on CD with radio edits only, no vulgar language

Photos/Videos

  • All contestants must submit a recent photo in hi-res .jpeg format that has no copyright attached to them
  • “Miss Texas Pole Star” contestants that are submitting a video for the preliminaries must submit an unedited performance video, 2–4 minutes in length, clearly marked with contestants name, phone number and email.
  • Video for consideration of Miss Texas Pole Star Competition preliminaries MUST be submitted in DVD format only to:

Film and Photography

The competitors have no right to compensation for photography or other footage made before, during and after the competition. The competitors explicitly and irrevocably agree that Vertical Fitness Dallas and The Girls Room LLC have all rights to and may use any and all footage and photography for promotional, advertising and commercial purposes.

Contestants that fail to comply with any of the qualifications/rules will be immediately disqualified with no fees refunded.
